Priced a little over $1000, the Lowrance HDS-7 just turns out to be the most wonderful investment you make. And that’s because the device is packed with all advanced features. That is going to come in handy at the time of fishing.

GPS SideScan technology is what makes the most impact here. Combined with CHIRP sonar, this advanced technology offers the best view of the fish. From below and the sides of the boat. Even the StructureScan HD/3D technology contributes to producing this flawless effect.

The design contains the best navigational and fish-finding features. With generous room for upgrade. The components you can upgrade are the radar, GPS, and maps.

The screen is high-definition, high-resolution, and multi-touch. Even with polarized sunglasses, you get access to a broad viewing range. What’s even more inviting is the integrated mapping system. You’ll find enhanced charts in here on around 4,000 lakes. Along with Navionics Autorouting and C-MAP easy routing capabilities.

Smartphone integration is also a part of the picture in this case. This is very useful considering how you and I both don’t want to miss important calls or texts.

You’ll even like to know that this fishfinder GPS combo has double CHIRP channels. And you can view both at one time. This means keeping your favorite CHIRP frequency to be seen for greater target separation is a possibility. Doesn’t that make the task much easier?

In all, the Lowrance HDS-7 is the ultimate eye of every vessel. Created for the crazy and hardcore fisher in you!

Pros
  • Split-screen functionality is available.

  • Thermocline detector and temperature sensor included.

  • Dual-beam, extensive sonar coverage.

Cons
  • It’s quite advanced, thus complicated to use for beginners.

Humminbird HELIX 5 Fish Finder Review

Humminbird HELIX 5 Fish Finder
Humminbird HELIX 5 Fish Finder

Here’s another best fishfinder GPS combo. But this one by Garmin. The company, no doubt, is a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to manufacturing advanced fishfinders. The product is sold with all the auxiliary parts. So you’ll get your every penny’s worth, no doubt about that.

GPS of the Humminbird HELIX 5, unquestionably, provides a crucial sense of navigation and direction. Then there’s the flip-up style mount and transducer. These make the installation part much more convenient for you.

The navigational capacity is high-precision. And so is the technology responsible for fish spotting. On top of that, the head is rotating for steady navigation over waters.

The imaging technology shoots only high-frequency beams. These travel under the surface for revealing contours, structures, and covers with complete clarity. Even the side imaging is quite impressive. Thanks to the super-thin beams that scan from left to right.

What about down imaging? The sound waves, in this case too, are high-frequency and emitted in super-thin slices. So you can view brush, rocks, timber, bridge pilings, etc. with stunning intricate detail.

You get both wide and narrow beam. The former is best if you want a larger search area. As for the latter, it delivers more precision. You can even combine the two beams for increased detail.

The digital CHIRP of the HELIX 5 doesn’t disappoint. When it comes to more intricate and accurate returns of the bottom, structure, and fish.

Needless to say, this Humminbird fishfinder GPS combo is designed with features that are certainly enough to pave the way for a successful fishing trip. With the inclusion of the gimbal bracket for mounting, power cable, and a transducer. The company validates my claim quite clearly.

Pros
  • Dual CHIRP beams for more detailed viewing.

  • It’s a waterproof fishfinder.

  • Side imaging and down imaging feature high-frequency beams.

Cons
  • Depth scale is only 350 feet.

When a fishfinder is outfitted with only useful features, it’s hard to dismiss the model. Even if the thing is slightly on the expensive side of the spectrum. I have not only reviewed but also used many mid-range GPS fishfinders. And none of them have come even remotely close to this best mid-range Garmin Striker 7SV model.

It doesn’t matter what the bottom, water, or weather conditions are. The current fishfinder GPS combo is a very reliable product for you as an angler. The display is 7 inches wide with WVGA color. The screen is easy and clear to read even when the light conditions are not in your favor.

The Garmin Striker 7SV has a waterproof body. So bonus points for that.

What about sonar capabilities? For that, the company has equipped the fishfinder with the traditional CHIRP technology. Along with the ClearVu sonar and SideVu sonar.

There’s no negating the fact that clearer scanning is performed. So you can view more things around the boat. It’s high-frequency, of course. This means you can look forward to images with intricate and detailed representations. Of fish, structure, and objects!

Moving on to navigation and mapping. The Garmin Striker 7SV features a high-sensitive GPS. So expect no setbacks from this department. Except for the absence of maps!

Other useful features included are split-screen and history rewind. Along with waypoints/routes sharing, depth line adjustability, and more.

But it’s Ultrascroll and A-scope that I found to be extremely practical. The former displays targets even when the speed of the boat is high. And the latter displays real-time passing of the fish through the device’s transducer beam.

To be honest with you, it’s a great model very likely to not let you down at any step of the way.

Pros
  • Installing and using fishfinder are easy tasks.

  • The CHIRP sonar creates crisp fish arches for flawless target separation.

  • Temperature sensor included.

Cons
  • No maps and you can’t even add any.

If you’re not a tech-savvy person, my advice to you would be to move on to another model. It’s because the Ray Marine Dragonfly Pro 7 is by far the most advanced GPS fishfinder. That offers complete synchronization with your mobile device. So you’re free to use a smartphone or tablet with this model.

When it comes to manufacturing sonar equipment, Ray Marine knows what it’s doing. The E70320 Dragonfly Pro 7, in particular, is a very suitable choice for big boats and saltwater. And so is every other Dragonfly model of the brand. It’s because of this series itself that the company has been able to navigate into the freshwater territory.

Now let’s talk about the phenomenal features. The state-of-the-art CHIRP technology of the fishfinder consists of a high-resolution display. And enhanced sonar for down vision. These kinds of features are mostly what more expensive models are designed with. So it’s great news to find out that they’re a part of this mid-range GPS fishfinder as well.

So what’s the actual difference between the Dragonfly 7 and Dragonfly 5? The former, which is the current pick, is built with a larger screen. That is 7 inches, in comparison to 5 inches. Even the resolution is higher, which is 800 pixels x 640 pixels. So the more recent version is certainly better than its predecessor.

The fishfinder GPS combo here is easy to use. But that’s only if you know your way around the device. What stands out from the list of features is the Radar Pulse DownVision technology. It’s high-intensity and compressed for a superior fishing experience.

No doubt, the images are photograph-like. After all, this sonar releases wide, layered impulses at different frequencies. To produce a crystal clear viewing experience. On top of that, the crisp display and detailed differentiation between plant-life and fish are very dramatic.

So are you ready to make the most of your fishing time?

Pros
  • High-definition, intricate images.

  • The CHIRP sonar is dual-channel.

Cons
  • Short cable, so you might have to buy an extension separately.

If you love fishing, you’ll want to buy the Garmin ECHOMAP. It’s equipped with an excellent transducer and ClearVu imaging. You can even connect the thing to a trolling motor. But the adapter cable for that connection you have to buy separately.

The display is 6 inches wide, which is just an inch smaller than its competitors. However, the pixels are similar to the 7-inch HELIX 5 I’ve reviewed above. In fact, unlike the HELIX 5 or the Lowrance model, the Garmin ECHOMAP comes with pre-loaded maps.

And how many maps? As many as 17,000. That’s pretty huge, isn’t it? 6,700 maps from these are high-definition and have 1-foot contours. There’s also very useful mapping software for creating personalized maps.

Traditional CHIRP sonar technology with ClearVu scanning is what you get. But what’s unique about this particular model? It’s the integrated Wi-Fi pairing technology. So you can buy and download fresh charts.

In the end, what matters the most is that it’s a user-friendly fish finder you’re less likely to turn down.

Pros
  • Bright 6-inch display.

  • Mapping software included for creating personalized maps for fishing.

  • It has Wi-Fi connectivity.

Cons
  • Connections are not waterproof.

  • Waypoint labels too small to read.

What’s so special about the Lowrance HOOK2 7-inch Fish Finder? The fact that it’s armed with GPS? Well yes, but there’s more. For easy interaction with the settings!

You get to fish with double coverage because of the inclusion of wider sonar. Even mounting the SplitShot transducer is easy and quick. You can do so on the transom and trolling motor, in the hull, or through the scupper hole.

The transducer offers straight DownScan technology sonar. Along with the CHIRP sonar for fish arch images! Do you think these features are impressive? Then just wait till I talk about the high-detail, preloaded mapping.

Preloaded inland mapping offers 1 foot-contoured 3,000 lakes. So feel free to streamline your search in terms of productive water. You can even narrow it down for locating structures such as cover, drop-offs, and ledges.

  • Sonar settings are auto-tuning for convenience.

  • Micro SD card included for saving trails, routes, and waypoints.

Cons
  • Mount base doesn’t rotate.

What you get here is the perfect combination of sonar and screen size. A highly detailed, bright screen view with phenomenal down imaging. Pair this up with a GPS plotter, and you have the best fishfinder GPS combo that’s not so heavy on the wallet.

The G2 models manufactured by Humminbird offer the unique benefits of CHIRP DI and CHIRP. Together, the beams show you the target other kinds of sonar simply cannot.

Speaking of sonar innovation, the manufacturer also decided to add Switchfire. What does this particular technology do? It allows you to control how the sonar return appears. You can make adjustments to the fishing conditions whenever you please. Like remove or add detail and experiment with how the lure appears. Or even account for temperature, depth, and turbulence.

GPS is also very useful and powerful in that regard. It provides fast, accurate position fixes within the 2.5-meter range.

To top it off, micro SD and Lakemaster AutoChart are also a part of the fishfinding experience. The card slot allows you to use your maps. And the AutoChart program makes way for creating and viewing custom maps of the lake.

While the cherry on top of the cake is the LCD, ultra-bright display and slim profile. So everything about this fishfinder GPS combo is faster, brighter, wider, and clearer.

Pros
  • Dual-beam CHIRP sonar.

  • GPS chart-plotting with integrated UniMap cartography.

  • Exclusive Switchfire technology for controlling sonar returns.

Cons
  • A bit complicated to use and get familiarized with.

With this device, marking the precise location and then using it to get to that spot is not such a complicated task. There’s a communication interface. This opens the door to sharing hot spots and waypoints with friends. The GPS, no doubt, gauges marked waypoints and your position.

As for the integrated sonar technology, CHIRP produces clear images. It sends continuous frequencies to provide a wide spectrum of information. Fish arches are crisper. With target separation that you’re bound to rank as superior in comparison to the rest.

The Garmin Striker 4 is also equipped with an integrated flasher. What this does make vertical jigging and ice fishing a more pleasurable experience. Even the mounting structures you get with the GPS fishfinder are very useful. They’re a part of the many auxiliary parts that come with the product.

Pros
  • High-frequency ClearVu sonar provides detailed representation.

  • Waypoint map allows you to navigate to, view, and mark locations.

  • Speed meter is included.

Cons
  • The display screen is only 3.5 inches wide.

  • It only communicates with identical devices.

Clear display and very detailed! The Garmin echoMAP CHIRP 54cv with Transducer is an excellent Chartplotter. It’s got the company’s exclusive CHIRP ClearVu. So clear sonar scanning images are a part of the picture.

The Striker 4 and Striker 4cv have a lot in common. Both are manufactured by the same company. And they even belong to the same series of Garmin GPS fishfinder combo. The only difference is that the Garmin Striker 4cv is a compact device. Meaning an ideal choice for small boats!

Even though compact, the fishfinder offers enough display width. Expect no limitations when it comes to viewing the useful waypoint system and fish targets. Even the 2D and ClearVu sonar are pretty much the same. Same meaning they’re installed for wider imaging, no two ways about that.

The ClearVu transducer comes with an integrated temperature sensor by the way. Along with temperature graph and log functions. Now, this is very useful for detecting currents while fishing.

The LED display is readable no matter how bright the daylight. Speaking of design, you might like another fact. That the Garmin Striker 4cv is completely waterproof.

The GPS is high-precision for checking trolling speed and tracking accurate locations. Then there’s Circular Flash and AutoGain as well. The former is the most suitable for showing depth. Along with indicating various sonar return strengths. While AutoGain filters noise automatically.

And lastly, the Ultrascroll feature makes way for scanning even at a higher speed. So there’s no questioning the truth. The Garmin Striker 4cv is a compact fishfinder. That isn’t any less competitive than its bigger or more expensive counterparts.

Pros
  • GPS is high-sensitivity.

  • Temperature sensor, ClearVu transducer is included.

  • Even though compact, the screen size is more than enough.

Cons
  • Wires are too short for large boats.

Choosing the Best Fishfinder GPS Combo

I won’t deny that it’s a complicated task selecting the best fishfinder GPS combo. And that’s because of 2 reasons. The first one is that such devices, for the most part, are not straightforward to understand and use. There are so many features, which aren’t always necessary. And the second reason is the overflow of options on the current market.

So it’s only natural to get confused and even a little frustrated. But once you get to know the basics, the rest becomes much easier to take in. Don’t you agree? If yes, then do go through the 3 most basic characteristics discussed below.

Display

The display of the fishfinder depends on the size of your boat. If your boat is medium in size, then 9-inch and 7-inch screens are the best. As for 7, 6, and 5 inches, these width options are also quite generous. They’re the most common due to the easy readability. Although 9 and 7 inches offer better readability from a distance.

Other display-related factors include resolution, backlit LED, and waterproof/water-resistant capacity. A good display screen provides a resolution of around 800 pixels x 480 pixels. And the backlit LED makes everything appear better when foggy or during the night.

Please note that IPX7 means waterproof and IPX6 means water-resistant. But it’s the former you should opt for if you have a smaller boat or kayak.

Sonar

When it comes to sonar, the first thing that pops in my head is high frequency. Only high frequencies can deliver proper separation. Along with higher detailed view! However, the range factor is limited. On the other hand, low frequency increases the sonar range. But then target separation is poor.

CHIRP sonars are considered to be the best in this area. It’s because they change frequencies constantly for superior target separation and detection. These types of sonars also work flawlessly for bottom display and mapping.

Mapping and Navigation

An integrated GPS is a part of every best fishfinder GPS combo. What happens when the frequencies of the GPS are higher? The technology provides better route plotting and accuracy. No matter the speed of the boat.

Maps pave the way for positioning your boat accurately, which is crucial when it comes to fishing. You can even look for models equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and a memory card.

You can share all this data on your smartphone or tablet in real-time. So why not make the most of that opportunity! You might want to check all this information later.

Bottom Line

In the end, I would only like to say one thing. If you’re looking for the best fishfinder GPS combo, you should seriously consider buying the Lowrance HDS-7 Live 7-inch Fish Finder.

Now I know that it’s an expensive model. But the device has a large 7-inch display with phenomenal double-channel CHIRP. Even the routing GPS capacity is excellent. Thanks to the auto-routing planning function.

But if you’re budget has no place for a higher-end fishfinder, then I’ve reviewed plenty of affordable ones too.

Buying Guide – What to Look For

Why would you want to buy a fish finder? It gives you cutting-edge fish-finding technology in a handy tool. It can be used for entry-level and professional fishing use. And it comes with its own mounting gear, sensors, etc.

But what makes a fish finder really impressive is the accuracy. It can give out the most accurate locations and accurate fishing targets. It also allows you to sync important fishing data such as new locations, fish targets, etc.

I’m sure you have plenty of questions about fish finders. Such as how to get more out of a fish finder. And its basic features and functions. Let’s look at the features a fish finder.

Critical Features to Look For

Display

The display screen of any fish finder needs to be large enough. Large enough to discern different types of fish, measurements, and other information. You want your fish finder to display all important details on the screen.
And it should have better lightning, backlit display, and navigation. Fish finders are categorized according to their screen size. Such as 3-, 5-, 4-, and 7-inches.

While some fish finders come with an “app-only” functionality. The Bluetooth/wireless configuration syncs all your data to your mobile screen.
More advanced features for display are split-screen function, touchscreen, and color choices. Some fish finders also offer night mode for finding fish in low-light conditions.

Scanner Technology

You have to choose from CHIRP, side, and down scanner. These are scanning technologies transmit waves. These waves detect and measure waves to keep track of your boat and your surroundings.

CHIRP scanner makes use of sonar technology. It’s more detailed than side and down scanners. Serious fishermen need a clearer resolution of what’s happening under and at the sides of your boat.

CHIRP scanner works for deep-sea fishing so it helps you scan rocks and other objects in the water.

Side scanners, as the name suggests, track the sides of the boat. While the down scanners track what’s underneath the boat. While this may sound restricted. Most fish finders offer a combination of down and side scanning for more accuracy.

Maps

Having built-in maps, graphs, and charts can help. These preloaded maps allow you to get an idea of where you are. However, these are often expensive and are sold separately. Depending upon your local location.

Anglers also find it useful to create and save new maps. Whether you’re an occasional angler or not. Having customized maps and graphs of a lake or river is essential. This helps if you want to go back to your previous fishing location. To help you look for newer fish and create a wider searching area.

GPS/Wireless Connection

Is GPS important for fish finders? GPS is ‘Global Positioning System’ and it helps with finding and saving location. In case you want more information about where you are. What’s around your boat and under your boat.

This can be valuable information for someone looking to find more fishing locations. That is, if you’re scouting new territory, GPS is the safest feature to use.

However, entry-level models do not offer GPS. But they are equally effective at helping you find fish.

Wireless connection, on the other hand, is for better syncing abilities. If you’re a techie, you might want wireless connectivity. It helps you transfer data such as fish locations, current locations, and depth range.

So it helps to start from where you stopped from your previous adventure.

Frequency

This includes the frequency of the transducer. There is a single, dual, and broadband type of frequency. The higher the frequency, the clearer the image. And the lesser the background noise while locating.

Fish finders with high frequency can also target fish while the boat is moving. While low frequencies work well when your boat stays put in one place. There are less background noise and vibration arising from the signal.

The frequency for shallow waters is 200 to 800 kHz. And for depth ranging deeper than 200ft. it is from 20 to 80 kHz.

Toyo Open Country AT2 Review

Traction

The Toyo Open Country AT2 was put to the test in the winter season. Installing them wasn’t a worry at all. Despite the extremely cold weather! The icy conditions were simply perfect to determine the physical resistance of these tires.

Immediately after installation, I subjected them to the aggressive back roads. My goal was to test the traction of the Toyo Open Country AT2 by pushing them to the absolute limit. And that too on the pavement covered with thin ice. Since I’m an outdoor enthusiast, I know how much certain vehicles can be strained before they start to spin out. In that context, the results were a pleasant discovery.

It didn’t take time for me to get a hold of the truth. And this is what I found. That the Toyo Open Country AT2 can deliver ultimate control in terms of traction! Even though they’re slightly inclined toward slippage during tight turns, the tires yield authority throughout the journey.

Once I got that covered, I put them to the test in other conditions as well. Such as sand dunes and heavy rains! And you’ll be glad to know that the Toyo Open Country AT2 maintained stable handling there too. With maximum precision and grace!

So should you expect the tires to offer a hard grip on the dry pavements? Of course, you should!

Handling

Now let’s move on to the handling part of the experience. The Toyo Open Country AT2 offers an excellent ride off and on the pavement. The only disappointment in terms of slippage is when the tires are subjected to almost black ice surroundings. But to be fair, this is a result of hitting those turns slightly harder than normal. Otherwise, making precision turns is not a concern.

When installing new tires, it’s important to achieve proper alignment. So that’s exactly what I did before putting the Toyo Open Country AT2 to the test. As a result of which handling turned out to be quite exceptional in nearly all conditions.

On the other hand, without proper alignment, be prepared to encounter a few minor vibrations at a higher speed. Especially on interstate journeys

Road Noise

When dealing with aggressive tread tires, what’s that one particular side effect that presents itself no matter what? It’s road noise. And the logic behind this is quite simple. The large tread blocks consist of wide gaps, right? Due to such a design, the blocks tend to continuously hit the asphalt. Instead of a direct contact between the surface of the tire and the road! (How tires work)

With that in place, here’s some great news. The Toyo Open Country AT2 doesn’t produce a lot of added noise. The structure is a combination of zig-zag shaped pattern and polygonal blocks. This kind of a tread design helps in reducing noise, irrespective of the terrain.

In that aspect, the Toyo Open Country AT2 did live up to my expectations. And I’m sure you’ll also be more than just pleased with such an aspect.

Durability

Even after gaining enough number of miles both off and on the road, the tires don’t show excessive tread wear. To be completely honest with you, all high-quality tires display only minimal wear during the first year.

But what’s unique in this case is the wear-protected tread compound installed on the Toyo Open Country AT2. This particular element promotes remarkable durability. It extends the lifespan of the tread by as much as 40 percent. And after all, you do want your tires to last for a very, very long time! Irrespective of how many miles they travel within a stipulated period of time, right?

What’s even better is Toyota’s industry-leading warranty for treadwear. They also provide the No Regrets plan. It’s a 500-mile, 45-day trial offer.

Value

Only after placing the Toyo Open Country AT2 under the scanner did I realize how reasonably priced they are. If you’re an adventurous driver too, then even you won’t take time to get your money’s worth. The tires allow you to reach your any/all-terrain destination over and over again for many years.

So it’s safe for me to state that the Toyo Open Country AT2 is among the most durable, reliable tires of the industry.

Cooper Discoverer AT3 Review

Toyo-Open-Country-AT2-vs-Cooper-Discoverer-AT3-4

Traction

If there are two things the Cooper Discoverer AT3 excel at, they are gripping and ripping. Throughout the testing phase, in both off-road and on-road conditions, the tires were nothing but impressive. At least as far as traction is concerned! It didn’t matter if snow, mud, rocks, or sand got in the way, the gear didn’t lose contact with the surface of the road. Even if it meant keeping 3 out of 4 tires stable on the ground!

When traveling on the highway or city roads, the Cooper Discoverer AT3pose no challenges. The tires are very much equipped to withstand rain and snow. And the former with minimal hydroplaning!

Stopping and starting under slippery winter road conditions is also a hassle-free experience. So don’t expect it to be a white-knuckled undertaking!

Now let’s talk about off-road performance. The Cooper Discoverer AT3 is packed with an aggressive tread. There’s no denying that! But this doesn’t automatically imply that the tires can grapple with muddy and rocky conditions. Am I right? Having said which, I put them to the test. And you’ll be relieved to know that its 8.5-inch ground clearance has the ability to handle everything. This includes rocks, mud, snow, and sand.

I exposed the tires to the whole lot, and they failed to disappoint in any way. So don’t predict the Cooper Discoverer AT3 to get stuck if subjected to extreme conditions. When it comes to delivering optimal traction, this particular model performs exceptionally well. That means your jeep will keep rolling as much you like.

Handling

Now you already know that the Cooper Discoverer AT3 offer stable performance off and on the road. But here’s something you might not be familiar with. That these tires are incredibly stable under wet conditions as well!

Once you initiate the transition to such an aggressive option, you won’t take time to realize the difference. The Cooper Discoverer AT3 is a remarkable upgrade, as far as handling goes. Especially under snowy conditions!

When on city roads and highway, the tires help you achieve that smooth ride. One that is free of turbulence and shaking! But I won’t lie to you, the Cooper Discoverer AT3 is not built to launch top speed cornering. However, their overall agility is quite phenomenal. Particularly when you know that they are supplied with an aggressively designed tread pattern!

Road Noise

The thing about Jeeps and aggressive tires is that the former makes the latter sound like monsters. And the Cooper Discoverer AT3 is not an exception. Although the noise is not beastly! Nevertheless, the tires do produce road noise a little above average. And more often than not, you’ll experience this on highways. But that’s the only time you might not appreciate the aggressive tread design.

Here’s another thing you ought to know. Not all vehicles are the same, at least in terms of soundproofing. With that in mind, Jeeps are louder than F150s. So if you’re dealing with the latter, road noise is not a noticeable factor. But in the case of the former, it does seem a bit annoying.

Durability

Let me begin by stating that the Cooper Discoverer AT3 offers a generous 55k-mile warranty. But what does that imply? In simple words, it means that the tires are engineered to remain on the rough roads for a very long time.

The testing sessions lasted for over two months and 4k miles. In that period of time, the Cooper Discoverer AT3 experienced minimal wear with zero incidents of rubber cracking or damage. And that says a lot given the off-road conditions I subject the tires to!

Value

The price range of the Cooper Discoverer AT3, based on size, offers excellent value. This is especially true for those who require the best of both worlds. This includes the aggressive flexibility of the top off-road tires and the fuel efficiency and dependability of the top on-road tires.

So to sum it up, the Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires are an ideal pick if you want to get your hands on this and that. With the least possible compromise!

What is a Water Cooler Dispenser?

A water cooler dispenser is a machine that cools (or heats) and dispenses water. But do you know that a water dispenser is totally different from a water cooler? Some people might be confused about these two different products. But we can explain to you their distinctions while giving some of the best-selling brands out in the market today.

A water cooler dispenser is an electronic device that gives you instant access to hot or cold water at any time. Modern water cooler dispensers are now equipped with safety features (like the child lock) that will avoid untoward incidents to children which protect them from touching the hot liquid. Some products offer self-cleaning water dispenser units that kill bacteria which are present on the water tank and the pipeline when used for a long time.
Some water cooler dispensers are energy efficient which allow you to save more on your electrical bill. Moreover, some units are so systematic, they can maintain the temperature of the water you want with minimal control. Find out more about the latest products of this type in the market today as we go along with our discussion.

Difference Between a Water Dispenser & a Water Cooler Dispenser

Manufacturers claimed that all water coolers are water dispensers, but not all water dispensers are water coolers. It is best to know the differences between these products to make you decide on what to purchase. But we can assure you that a water cooler has a lot of differences from a water dispenser, they should not be mistaken for the other.
Most of the best water cooler dispensers in the market today are movable, lightweight, and has a sleek design to save space. They have also efficient hot and cold water features, unlike a simple water dispenser. Whether used in your home, in the office, or any other workstation, this machinery is always ready to provide people with hot or cold water at any time of the day (or night).

Water Dispenser

If you talk about a simple water dispenser, the one that pops up in one’s mind is a basic container which provides liquids from storage (like a tank). The liquid could be dispensed via a tap. The taps may include those from the bathroom or the kitchen. The built-in water dispenser system of a refrigerator is also considered as such.
Moreover, a receptacle that holds a large amount of pre-filled water and dispenses through a tap, can also be classified as a water dispenser. This also includes a water jug with a tap. Additionally, a simple water dispenser usually dispenses water at ambient temperature.

You have no chance of drawing hot water for your coffee or tea when you just rely on a water dispenser. You need to boil water if you want to blend your favorite coffee or get some from your thermos which may not be too hot for your liking.

Water Cooler Dispenser

A water cooler dispenser lets you draw hot and cold water in a single receptacle. This is just one of the conveniences of having this type of appliance in your office or in your home. Similarly, a water cooler dispenser gives you access to cold water in no time without waiting for the tap to produce cold water. This will save you a lot of time and energy. This type of water cooler is becoming more popular in homes.

The water coolers of yesteryear were only used in guest houses, inns, boardrooms, offices, hotels, sports facilities, and other places where many people converged. Refrigerators were then popular as the perfect place to chill water for drinking while you need to boil water for hot beverages. But now, there are modern water cooler dispensers used in homes that will not cost much on your budget.

Bottom Loading vs. Top Loading vs. Bottle less Water Cooler Dispensers

There are two styles of water cooler dispensers currently offered by different manufacturers. These are the bottled water dispensers and the bottle-less water coolers. The bottled type, in turn, is classified into 2 varieties; the bottom load water dispenser and the top load water dispenser.

The bottled type water coolers usually use a clean 5-gallon water bottle as a water supply vessel. You can buy the content from vendors from your neighborhood’s water station. You can also store more bottles with content so you don’t have to worry about emptying the cooler unexpectedly.

More establishments prefer this type of water cooler because of its easy maintenance and the availability of bottled water from nearby vendors. This dispensing machine is also portable where you can put it anywhere you want in your home. Some water dispensers have three taps; for hot, cold, and ambient waters.

Some of the best water coolers in town are manufactured by well-known companies and could be delivered right at your doorstep.

On the other hand, the bottle-less water cooler dispenser doesn’t need a bottle receptacle to produce drinking water (hot & cold). This type of water dispenser relies on your own home’s water supply. With this type of set-up, you don’t need to buy bottled water from vendors.

Here’s a quick explanation of the different types of water coolers:

Bottom Loading

The bottom loading water cooler dispenser is perfect for housewives and oldies who don’t have someone to rely upon in lifting a 5-gallon water bottle. Additionally, the big bottle is hidden at the bottom back of the unit for quick and easy loading. This also makes the machine better looking and sleek.

Some of the best bottom loading water dispensers available today without the high price tag include the Whirlpool, Primo, Avalon, and the Brio brands. These brands are also comparable in quality to high priced ones.

Top Loading

The bottled water container in a top-loading water cooler dispenser is placed spout-down into the dispensing device. This set up needs a little lifting of an 8.33lbs (3.8kg) weight of a 5-gallon water bottle. This type of cooler also comes in countertop water dispenser, which is ideal for tight spaces in homes or offices. This variant can be placed on top of the table or your kitchen’s countertop, as the name suggests.

Bottle-less

The bottle-less dispensers are also called POU (point of use) water coolers because the piping is directly connected from an in-house water source. This kind of unit continues to supply hot and cold drinking water while you don’t need to buy replacement water bottles.

Bottle-less water dispenser models, unlike the bottled variety, don’t have a built-in compressor and pump that will deliver hot and cold water without interruption. Its control system (like water temperature) is also at par with bottled water dispensers. However, to ensure that you have clean and hygienic drinking water, you need first to establish a thorough filtration system.

How to Choose the Best Water Cooler Dispenser

Water cooler dispensers are becoming more popular because of their low maintenance and low cost as compared to large volume filtration systems. This amazing product comes in several brands but there is surely one or two models which would fit your needs.

Hot coffee, tea or instant soups had been part of your everyday lives any time of the day. When you have this type of machine that provides you and the family with the convenience of having hot water the minute you want it, you’ll never regret having one. While cold water will quench your thirst especially during the summer months, you don’t have to wait for a pitcher to cool in the fridge.

Choosing the best water cooler for your needs is not a delicate task to do. There are more ways to know the type that will serve your purpose well. As a first step, we have discussed the type of water coolers (bottom loading, top-loading, and bottle-less) above. You can start the selection by considering what kind of unit do you want from these 3 types.

Here are some other tips on what you have to look for in finding the right water cooler dispenser for your home or office.

1. Material

Some water drinkers are very particular with taste. They always prefer the taste that they are accustomed to or a tasteless water at all. Some water cooler reservoir (or the tank where water is stored) are made of plastic. Some are made from stainless steel.

These two materials are the most prevalent among water cooler products because they don’t corrode. Some units made from plastic have plastic-like taste, but not all of them. If you don’t want this funny plastic-like taste, you can pick a water cooler dispenser made from stainless steel.

2. Safety features

Most water cooler dispensers nowadays are equipped with safety features like the child lock (or safety lock). This safety measure prevents accidents involving kids. For a family with small children on the household, some products are provided with the child lock feature to protect kids from hot water accidents.

3. Ease of maintenance and operation

To protect your family from water-borne bacteria, some models are designed with a self-cleaning feature. Those products with self-cleaning feature use ozone to kill bacteria present in the water receptacle and pipelines. It’s not a must, but its a very welcome feature.

Moreover, you can select a unit that offers easy operation. Some products deliver sufficient water flow rate with just a touch of the finger. Other units have three temperature settings (hot, ambient, and cold) allowing you to customize your drinking experience.

4. Price of the unit

You can definitely choose the most affordable water cooler in town. You can also consider the features a unit could offer. You must be aware that each cooler comes at different prices, depending on the brand and its features.
If you have a tight budget but want a unit that could offer you the basic features, go for it!

Conclusion

There are too many water cooler dispensers out in the market today. But the finest of them all is only a handful, just like what we have on our list. We don’t mention here about the bottle-less variety because this system requires that you install a filtering system that some perceived to be more costly.

On this regard, we provide you with only two options: the bottom load and top load water cooler dispensers which both have built-in filtering and compressor systems. You can pay for these main systems without altering your home or office landscape. Moreover, the cost is only a fraction of what a bottle-less system offers.

Which security light is best? You got it SANSI LED offers the best combination of features for a security flood light with motion sensors. It has two light heads which give it a wide angle of area coverage. Four LED lights produce 1,800 lumens of light, which creates a bright white light. Despite its brightness, it only draws 18W of power to reduce your electricity consumption.

GLW 10w 12v Ac or Dc Warm White LED Flood Light

Check on Amazon.com

Another great small yet very powerful light. works with any LED transformer/ pwr supply.

Light is dimmable with a proper transformer. Light is very “incandescent” looking .. looks pretty much like any halogen tube type security light (NOT that ‘hot white’ LED kind).

It brings a little on the warmer yellow side, but bright enough to help light up your dark backyard. The light seemed to handle the wet conditions good, the light kept shining. You can have it programmed to turn off and on several times during the night for a total run time of about 6 hours. It’s nice that the current this light draws is a little under 1 amp, so it doesn’t take a huge battery and solar panel to keep it going.
One disappointment point with the build quality of this light is the very small gauge wire leads it has. With minimum current flowing to the light large wires are not required, BUT it sure makes it challenging to wire it into your existing system wiring. Maybe the manufacturer will read this post and increase the size to something easier to work with like perhaps 16 gauge.

Anyway, it is working well for solar application as an outdoor light.

Hope this helps with your decision. Here are the Pros and Cons Table

How to choose the right lights for your need

Listed below are some of the tips that should be taken into account before you put them into the cart.

Power selection

The power of the flood light is ranged from 20W to 1000W; however, how many power should I choose? If you intend to use the lights for backyard, BBQ party or outdoor activities in your home, the lux level should be around 100. How do I find the corresponding wattage? For example, if you have a 50 sq meter yard, the brightness required is 50 x 100 = 5000 lumens. For the LED having 130 lumens per watt, the power needed is 5000 / 130 = 38.5W. And hence a 40W LED would be suitable. This value increases with your size of the backyard as well as lux requirement.

If the need to do the vehicle repair work in your garage, you will need around 500 to 600 lux. Similarly, you may buy 200W LED for each 50 sq meter. It is not necessary to buy one single light. Instead, you can have 4 to 5 sets of 40W flood lamps putting around the ceiling to achieve better uniformity.

Location

Outdoor LED flood lights should be such that they allow you to place them at least at an angle of 22 degrees facing downwards so as to ensure that the outdoor LED flood lights shine their full beam on the intended area or object. Also, the lights should be such that they don’t shine on your neighbor’s house and compromise their privacy.

Energy saving

The intensity of the floodlight is run from 20W to 1000W; in any case, what number of intensity would it be advisable for me to pick? In the event that you plan to utilize the lights for the backyard, BBQ party or open-air exercises in your home, the lux level ought to associate with 100.

How would I locate the relating wattage? For instance, in the event that you have a 50 sq meter yard, the splendor required is 50 x 100 = 5000 lumens.

For the LED having 130 lumens for every watt, the power required is 5000/130 = 38.5W. Also, subsequently 40W LED would be appropriate. This esteem increments with your size of the patio just as lux prerequisite.

Finish

It is advisable to choose outdoor LED flood lights which are either made of stainless steel, copper or painted over an aluminum base. This ensures that the outdoor LED flood light that you have purchased is of good quality and is durable.

Lifetime

Another reason to replace the customary light to LED is the expanded life expectancy. As per the item depiction, the working existences of the LED surge lights can be 50000 to 80000 hours, which is 5 to multiple times of halogen and metal halide lights.

The lights having higher life expectancy would dependably be your best decision since it is expensive to purchase the new lights and introduce them, particularly you are having the substantial scale substitution.

On the off chance that you turn on the lights for 10 hours of the day, LED runs 22 years. As a general rule, numerous clients whine that the metal halide or incandescent lights go off effortlessly, inside 4-8 months use. Consequently, changing to LED spare you a great deal of time and cash.

Motion Sensors

Outdoor LED flood lights with motion sensors can detect beings up to 75 feet away. This provides greater security for homeowners. As outdoor LED flood lights with motion sensors are now available at affordable rates, it’s recommended that you consider the motion sensor feature before purchasing one if you want to focus on the security aspect.

Heat dissipation

It is seldom mentioned in the product page if you are a constant Amazon’s customer. The fact is that the LED chips will be damaged if the junction temperature keeps incredibly high. A good flood light should have effective heat sink system transferring the heat from the internal structure to outside. Aluminum is a good conducting material to fabricate the heat dissipation system. We can select the LED that is made of aluminum or the related alloy.

Waterproof

Water resistant is a vital feature for outdoor flood lights. To be able to work under rain or snow storm, the luminary should have at least IP65 ingress protection rating.

Automatic

When purchasing outdoor LED flood lights, primarily for security purposes, you may want to go for the available automatic “dawn to dusk” lights as they save on energy bills because they turn on at dusk and switch off at dawn.

You might find some useful information here! Otherwise, please comment your question below!!

Advantages of Using LED Flood Lights

There are several advantages to using LED flood lights.

First of all, they use between 80 and 90% less energy than halogen lights which saves money on utility bills. Plus, the beam of light is wider and covers a wider area.

LED flood lights also last a really long time. In fact, they can last more than 20 years depending on how many hours a day they’re used. Most are weatherproof and covered with a warranty, too.

Can LED Flood Lights be Dimmed?

They can be but only if the light specifies that it’s dimmable.

Are LED Flood Lights as Bright as Halogen?

Yes. Brightness is measured in lumens and LED lights to provide just as many lumens using less energy than halogen bulbs.

Why is my LED Flood Light Flashing?

Any sort of fluctuation in voltage can cause an LED light to flicker. This could happen for a lot of reasons.

Sometimes it’s as simple as another appliance coming on, like the refrigerator or washing machine. Other times it can be caused by a loose connection between the bulb and the fixture or the wiring.

How Does LED Flood Light Work?

LED flood lights use light emitting diodes (LED) to produce light. They’re actually semi-conductors that pass an electrical current between 2 metal pads.

When the amount of current reaches the designated wattage, the energy is released in the form of light.

The reason that LEDs use less energy is that they don’t use heat to generate light as halogen bulbs do. They stay cooler which is one reason they last so much longer.

Do LED lights burn out?

LED lights do burn out, but at least in theory they should last far longer than incandescent or fluorescent lights. All lights are rated in terms of the average hours they can be left on before the bulb burns out. While the cheapest incandescent bulbs are rated around 500 hours, and better ones around 800-1,000 hours (and in many locations, standard incandescent light bulbs are not even available for sale any more), fluorescent lights are typically rated at 8,000 hours or ten times longer.

Conclusion!

To get yourself the best LED flood light, you need to consider a number of factors. What price range are you looking for? Once you have determined how much you are able to spend, you will be able to narrow down your options. It is also important to consider the type of installation you want to have, and the level of brightness you need as well.
